Christian Resource Centre founding Bishop Joshua Ntitika died in his sleep at his Olturoto home, in Kajiado county, on Friday night.
According to his area chief and family friend, Jonah Sikonkai, the late Bishop Ntitika died of a heart attack.
Nominated senator Peris Tobiko said: “It is with utmost shock and disbelief that I learned of Bishop Ntitika’s death.”
“It is, indeed, a harrowing loss to all of us. I condole with the family, the Kaputiei House of Bishops and the entire church fraternity,” said Tobiko.
Governor Joseph Lenku’s message on the demise of the bishop said: “Today the Maa nation mourns you. We feel the gap you have left. We feel the loss of your demise.”
“On behalf of myself, my family, and the people of Kajiado at large, I pray for your family’s strength and courage to overcome this monumental loss,” said Lenku on Monday.
The late Bishop Ntitika is known for many peace initiatives and for uniting the people of Kajiado East regardless of the communities they come from.
He believed in the rights of everyone who bought land properties in Kajiado county and was at the forefront of demanding justice for people maimed or killed by wild animals.
