Kajiado UDA governor aspirant, Katoo ole Metito, on Saturday said 90 per cent of candidates who left the party after the April nominations have returned.
Katoo, who spoke in Kimana town near Loitokitok border town with Tanzania, said after the nomination in April, all the disgruntled candidates threatened to quit the party.
“It became a scary issue and we had to leave everything else including the campaigns so we could negotiate with them to come back,” revealed Katoo.

Katoo was addressing all the party nominee candidates for the various seats in the county and asked all of them to campaign for all the UDA candidates.
“During the nominations, it was everyone for himself, but now we are moving as members of UDA. Campaign for all the candidates from the MCA to the presidency,” said Katoo.
Kajiado East MP, Peris Tobiko, was missing from the meeting but the Kenyewa/Poka MCA Henry Kimiti said the legislator was holed up in Mombasa on official duty.
While Katoo was in Kimana, former Kajiado governor David Nkedianye was in the Entarara area at the home of Jubilee MCA nominee for Rombo Ward, Abigael Sein.
Sein, the first nominated woman to be picked to vie for the MCA seat, was unveiling her campaign journey and the occasion was attended by party senate nominee, Moses Sakuda.
Others were MP Joseph Manje, Nkedianye’s running mate, women representative nominee Simayiai Rakita, and Kajiado South MP nominee Bishop John Sing’aru.
Nkedianye exuded confidence that the Jubilee party will win many seats in the coming general election and urged the people of Kajiado to maintain peace.
“Kajiado is home to everyone living here, anyone causing trouble in this electioneering year should be reported to the police. We want a united Kajiado, everyone is yearning for peace,” said Nkedianye.
He claimed he is gaining the ground after he was out for the last five years.
“The people of Kajiado believe in me because I served them with diligence during my time,” added Nkedianye.

Governor Joseph Lenku took his campaign to Kajiado West and addressed several meetings in the Oloishobor area.
Lenku told his supporters to reelect him so that he could complete all the pending projects he initiated while in office.
“Let us walk together in this journey as I promise to do better than I did in my first term as governor,” said Lenku.
