“We are not trying to discredit anyone here, but we are saying that those seeking the vaccines should be served in good time,” said King’ori.

Many elderly people seeking AstraZeneca vaccines for Covid-19 at the Kitengela sub-county hospital are calling for protocols to be followed by the medics..

Most of the people, who talked to the press, claimed some of the staff are not following the first-come-first-serve arrangements.

“The queues are taking too long to clear. I am appealing to the doctors and nurses to strictly adhere to this arrangement of the protocol so that the people can be served without favouring others,” said politician George King’ori.

King’ori said the elderly are kept for long hours waiting because of “small hitches” in protocols that should not be the case.

He thanked the doctors and nurses for accepting to work for long hours to ensure all the needy people are served.

“We are not trying to discredit anyone here, but we are saying that those seeking the vaccines should be served in good time,” said King’ori.

Kitengela sub-county hospital started serving people above the age of 58 years old last week on Friday and on Monday the facility was overwhelmed after doctors claimed that many people from Nairobi and Machakos sought the services there.
