County COVID-19 Partners’ Coordination Committee charged with the distribution of food to those negatively affected by the pandemic is appealing for well-wishers’ support.
The committee’s chairman, Daniel ole Kanchori, appealed after the distribution of food exercise in Noompopong village in Kajiado East and Ilbissil in Kajiado Central.
“The task ahead of us is a serious matter. We are dealing with many hungry people, and our stock is depleted. There are families out there that have gone for days without food,” said a concerned Kanchori.
Kanchori said he is appealing for more partners to back Governor Lenku’s team by chipping in whatever they can to go to the noble cause.
“The county government cannot manage the entire county alone without the support of other well-wishers. This is the reason we are appealing to those able Kenyans in their capacity or through their companies to give what is possible,” said the chairman.
During the exercise in Noompopong village, some 200 families received 5 kg of assorted foodstuff.
Representatives of the families lined up as early as 8 am in wait for the team to arrive.
In Ilbissil, some100 received food, while in Imbirrikani 100 more in the Imbirrikani area of Kajiado South.
