The Kajiado COVID-19 Partners’ Coordination Committee led by Chairman Daniel Kanchori today marked the second day of food distribution to less-fortunate members of society.
The team distributed food items to young girls at AIC Girls Boarding School in Kajiado on Wednesday.
“Those are girls who have taken refuge at the school’s rescue centre after running away from retrogressive practices such as early marriages and female genital mutilation,” said Kanchori.
The chairman spent the better part of Thursday in Kitengela town where he led his committee appointed by Governor Joseph Lenku to distribute food items to some 100 widows to cushion them from the effects of coronavirus.
“This is an on-going process and our target is mainly the so poor people, who have been negatively affected by this pandemic,” said Kanchori.
