The death occurred a few metres from Kajiado Central Police Station after jumping onto the road after seeing a speeding car at a close range.

A former employee at Kajiado referral hospital was on Thursday killed by a speeding car along the Namanga road as she attempted to cross.

The 57-year-old woman, who is said to have served at the county referral hospital is suspected to have committed suicide over unspecified reasons.

The death occurred a few metres from Kajiado Central Police Station after jumping onto the road after seeing a speeding car at a close range.

Eyewitnesses said the spotted the woman at the spot as early as 9 am before she was hit by the speeding car minutes after 11 am.

A driver of the vehicle that caused her life, Denis Owino, said he was headed to the direction of Bissil when the incident occurred.

“As I took a turn from Kajiado central business district, I was driving towards Bissil and had not seen anything on the road. Suddenly a woman just jumped to the road before I crossed, and it happened so,” said Owino.

Owino made the same statement at the police station.
