Residents of Kaputiei North Ward received their Easter Holiday goodies this season after their MCA, Joshua Olowuasa, dished them food items on Wednesday.
The event that took place in Isinya town and its environs caught many residents by surprise as it happened only a day after waiving some Sh700,000 in rental fees from his tenants.
Olowuasa said his gesture should not be linked to early campaigns as the move was decided by his family to provide for those who do not have over Easter Holiday.
“This will be the norm in my ward because the word of God is clear, as a true Christian family, we are guided by the principle of giving to the less fortunate members of the society,” said Olowuasa after dishing out food items that included vegetables to more than 200 homes.
The MCA used the occasion to educate the people of Kaputiei North on the need for washing hands and sanitising themselves as a way of fighting the spread of Coronavirus.
Earlier last week, the MCA had also distributed water tanks for sanitisation at the local health centre in Isinya, and also gave some to local families as part of his contribution in the fight against the COVID 19.
“This is a serious disease and my people and everyone out there should heed to what the government is telling them to do. People should not take these curfews as a punishment from the government but should appreciate and remain safe in their houses,” said Olowuasa today.
He advised Isinya residents to celebrate Easter in their houses and to keep indoors.
