A manager for a play station games’ outlet in Kitengela town, Kajiado County, was stabbed to death on Wednesday afternoon in a grisly incident.
Trouble started when two men walked into the cyber outlet, a few metres, outside Chief Alex Kang’ethe’s office while armed with a knife and went for the victim’s neck.
The two attacked the youthful manager and stabbed him on the neck and chest before members of the public rounded the two attackers.
Isinya Deputy County Commissioner, Stanley Too, confirmed that the two youth were arrested and now helping the police in the investigation.
“These are young men under the age of 23. They had earlier gone to the play station and demanded to play for free but the manager refused to let them do so. They walked out only to return immediately with a concealed knife which they used in attacking the manager,” said DCC Too.
Earlier on, Kitengela police said they received information that at 1.30 pm on the same day that there was a commotion in a movie shop near Kitengela post office.
“Police officers rushed to the scene and established that one male adult namely Elijah Ongeri aged 23 years, the proprietor of Movies series and Play Station had been stabbed severally and was lying dead on the floor of his shop in a pool of blood,” the police report said.
The report further said besides the dead man was a knife with blood stain and members of the public managed to corner two suspects namely, William Mwasya, 21, and Daudi Ali, 30.
Both were subjected to mob injustice before being rescued by police.
It was also established that the motive of the incident is suspected to be a disagreement between the two suspects and the deceased since the suspects are regular customers to the deceased.
The scene was processed and the body moved to Shalom Community Hospital Mortuary to await postmortem.
