The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection State Department of Children in the County today organized a networking workshop with charitable institutions.
They met to enhance networking amongst the institutions in a bid to foster referral system and understanding their noble operations in their areas.
The workshop which took place at ACK Guest House in Kajiado town saw 72 charitable children institution and children officers deliberate on issues that affect their daily operations.

Parit explained that the one-day workshop was an eye-opener for all the charitable institutions handling children matters in the county, adding that the participants left with valuable knowledge.
“We tackled issues on legal instruments appertaining to how we run our children institutions in this county, we also had case-by-case management issues and briefs on family tracing, reintegration and aftercare services,” said Parit, who has become a household name in the war against FGM and early childhood marriages in the county.
She said the fight against injurious practices meted on young girls require the effort of all well-wishers in the society, including churches and professional bodies.
“Those we work together cannot win this war without the goodwill of the people of the county and government departments handling matters related to children,” said Parit.
