The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has gazetted Elizabeth Jebet Kibor’s name as to replace Sandra Mario at Kajiado County Assembly.

In a gazette notice dated April 18, IEBC chairman, Wafula Chebukati, deleted the name of Mario and replaced with that of Kibor in the marginalized list.
The Gazette notice now puts to rest court battles that started immediately after the last nominations in 2017.
The notice now compels the speaker of Kajiado County Assembly, Johnson Osoi, to arrange for the swearing-in for Kibor, who has been nominated by ODM and her name forwarded to IEBC as directed by the election petition court in Kajiado last year.
Elizabeth Kibor is the new ODM nominee to replace Sandra Marion at the county assembly.

On Tuesday night, Kibor was upbeat and said she is up to the task, adding that justice has been served by her party, IEBC and the petition court.

“I am happy, and will not bore blame to anyone because I strongly believe in the living God. This is a win for the ODM fraternity in Kajiado and the country at large,” said Kibor.
Two weeks ago, Kajiado Assembly deputy speaker, Joseph Masiaya, had told KNU that in the absence of a gazette notice, Mario will continue serving as a nominee for ODM in the House.
