The construction of Loitokitok town open-air market in Kajiado County is now complete and ready for occupation, Governor Joseph ole Lenku said on Sunday.
Lenku opened the facility said it will accommodate up to 500 traders at any given time.
Lenku, who was accompanied by Kajiado South MP Katoo ole Metito and the five local MCAs, said the new marketer will decongest the town centre.
“I want every trader to leave the streets and occupy this new market. We must decongest Loitokitok town,” said Lenku.
He said the market is connected with clean tap water, electricity and has a working sewerage system.
The governor ended his five-day tour of duty in Loitokitok on Sunday evening. He commissioned several projects done by the county government and interacted with local farmers in Rombo and Kimana irrigation schemes.
