Governor Joseph Lenku has created a new position in his government to be charged with the management of the county’s revenue department.

The creation of the office of director general, which is directly under the office of the governor, was done barely a day after Lenku reshuffled his cabinet on Thursday night.
Lenku said the directorate will be headed by David Muntet and will directly report to him. He said he is re-organizing the county’s revenue department in new effort to boost service delivery.
Muntet, he said, will head the new unit and is mandated to lead his new sub-county revenue directors in pursuit of his Sh1.5 billion revenue collection target.
In a statement released by outgoing County Secretary Francis Sakuda on Saturday evening, each Sub County will be headed by a director.
The appointed Sub County directors are; Jonah Orumoi (Kajiado North), Jonathan Turere (Kajiado South, Naini Musa Tipape (Kajiado East), Janet Sereu (Kajiado Central) and Emily Kiparki (Kajiado West).
Alex Lengete was appointed a deputy director of revenue (ICT Administration). The statement said the changes take effect immediately.
