UNDERSTANDING SUCCESS ACADEMY KITENGELA
Success Academy Kitengela is a private Institution established in 2006 by its Proprietor with a vision to meet the academic, spiritual, physical and social needs of pre- primary and primary school going pupils. It is situated in a serene environment with a Conducive Academic Atmosphere off Prisons Road in Kitengela Town which is one of the fastest growing towns in Kenya along Kitengela – Namanga Highway. It started with Three (3) Pupils and 0ne (1) teacher at the Kindergarten section and developed to a Primary later. The school offers 8-4-4 system of education which is the Kenyan National Recommended System.
Since then, Success Academy Kitengela has been experiencing steady numerical growth from three (3) Pupils to four hundred and thirty six (436) Pupils and from one (1) teacher to twenty (20) teachers to date. In addition, the school has been registering excellent academic performance both in National (KCPE) and local termly or continuous assessment exams. In addition, the Academy has school transport, Catering Unit, Boarding Facility, Computer Lessons, Music Lessons and Swimming Lessons.

Hallo and praise the Lord. Great and mighty is the Almighty God, the creator of the heavens and earth. He is worthy to be praised and glorified forever and ever amen.
Success academy was born out of a dream, a vision, a passion and a burden to reach out to the children and meet their spiritual, academic and social needs and produce the God – intended child. I did not know how it will be and how possible it was but I came to learn that a God – given dream will always find its way to fulfillment.
It was in the year 2004 when the Lord challenged me to start a school for children from all tribes and religions. God spoke to me through a lady and immediately I conceived the vision. Little did I know that the Almighty God had plans and purpose for a birth of a School by the name Success Academy.
As soon as I got the vision I brooded over it, nurtured it and nursed it until its stage of maturity. This did not happen overnight but took time to come to fruition. But I believed the scripture in Habakkuk 2:2-3 which says,”And the Lord answered me, and said, write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”
God’s vision conceived at God’s appointed time by God’s anointed servant will always finds it season of fulfillment. This happened in the above quoted year, and the vision finally became a reality.
It was in 2006 when the dream was ‘birthed’ and Success academy became a realized dream. We had a very humble beginning but we decided not to despise it according to Zechariah 4:10a which says, “For who has despised the day of small things? God has steadily continued to grow us and ten years down the line, we have experienced his faithfulness.
The journey has not been all that easy, but as the saying goes on, “A journey of a thousand miles starts with one step.” The God Almighty who had made it possible to start that long journey but with one step has been very faithful and has made us grow from Three (3) children with one (1) teacher to four hundred and fifty (450) pupils to date.
This institution is built on a very strong Christian foundation and guided by these principles: Matthew 19:14 which says, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Proverbs 22:6 which says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.”
The guiding principles are: bringing the children to Jesus by evangelizing to them and training them in the right ways of God. We nurture and develop their inherent talents and gifts and help them realize and maximize their potential.
Through gifted teachers, the children are taught the government authorized curriculum and through the years there has been excellent academic performance in both local and national exams. Socially, the children have learned the art of relating amicably and harmoniously with each other at school level and the community at large.

DEPUTY DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE
It is with great delight and pleasure to take this auspicious opportunity to thank God for His unmerited favor He bestowed upon my husband the Bishop and gave him a vision of a school within the church ground.
The Bible says in John 3:27 that, “…a man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.” NKJV God saw it worthy to give the Bishop the vision and the ability to nurture it until it became a reality in the year 2006.
Since the institution was ‘born’, I have rallied behind the servant of God to see to it that the school grows and becomes what God intends it to be. It has been a journey with a winding road very difficult to follow, mountains to climb and valleys to descent. But through it all, God’s grace has been sufficient and I can attest that it has been Ebenezer (This far the Lord has helped us.)
I strongly agree with the saying that says, “A journey will always appear long until it is started” and “A destiny spiritually seen is a destiny physically achieved.” It has been a journey of faith and with the same faith; we shall press on until we arrive at God’s given destination. I want to emulate Apostle Paul’s declaration in Phil. 3:14 that, “I press towards the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus,” NKJV. We are not yet there but by God’s grace we will make it.
I want to register my sincere thanks goes to the Bishop who is also the Director of the Institution, the Manager who has worked tirelessly to see to that the school grows, the teachers whose efforts and contributions cannot go unnoticed, all the parents for their general support , all the pupils and all other stakeholders. Eight year ago, the giant Success Academy started at a very humble beginning. The school started with three (3) children and One (1) teacher called Lilian.
One year down the line, there was a public demand to introduce class One (1) to Three (3) and it came to pass in 2007 when primary section was born.
According to the Book of Habakkuk 2:2, the school was born out of a vision. God has been gradually unveiling the dream of Success Academy.
Since the school started, I can attest to that God has been helping me manage the school under the wise leadership of the Director Bishop Donald Mutiso. We as the Management have gone through challenges but by God’s unending grace, we have kept the momentum of steady growth of the school.
As the Manager of the institution, I can say that the school has a bright future since it is build on the right foundation even the Rock of Ages – Jesus Christ. In my managerial work, I have noticed that I can’t manage by my own knowledge or strength and as a result, have allowed God to lead me in the best way possible for the success of the academy. This I do through prayer, listening to God in meditation and seeking counsel from the Director.
My work also involves supervision of other workers. I sort out their issues, counsel them on how to maximize their potential and be more efficient and effective in their work. I also empower the team for maximum production in order to bring the institution to where God wants it to be.
My humble and sincere appeal to all parents is that, Success is the school where their children should be. This is because, here we produce all round children and equip them with skills to competently face life with confidence and diligent, and make impact to their immediate society and beyond. AMEN
HEAD TEACHER’S MESSAGE
Through the lenses of the Head Teacher, Success Academy is the only unique place where every child is nurtured to believe that they can shine and have potential to become what God divinely wired in them through divine design in Kitengela.
There is a paradigm shift in matters of conventional education where value based education is becoming increasingly important compared to the secular education which often times than not produces only academic robots.
Here in Success Academy, the teachers are actually tasked with the ardent responsibility of stewardship, identifying, nurturing and retention of the holistic nature of the learners.
We espouse the fact that education of all our children must be given the first priority to address the three areas of their living; mental, physical and spiritual endowment .This unique product helps to give a full and adequate preparation for learners’ life in service for humanity and God’s service and future eternal life and above all a balanced member of this community.
Success Academy gives an education which recognizes God as the source of all wisdom and understanding by instilling the progressive and consistent fear of God as the base for true success for life here and thereafter.
At Success we do recognize that the greatest need of the world today is not only ‘’the learned men ‘’ but the learned men;

At Success Academy such training is offered in their formative years to enable children develop robust faith , ability and prowess a requirement to produce holistic and responsible independent citizens of our nation.
Our new curriculum which is competency based in nature is critically making a clarion call to all stakeholders in education to make a hasty departure from making a learner a jack of all trades but a master of none as a matter of expediency. Our teachers have elaborate skills and training to identify talents and endeavor to search for the hidden ones through skills and talent promotion activities in curriculum, co-curricular and extra – curricular activities, in and out of the school.
Parents in Success academy have also a well knit fabric which incorporates and midwifes the delivery of the academic programmes without any hiccups as envisaged and enhanced through get together activities and bonding sessions across the year. In such meetings all members of the Success Academy family share views and brainstorm as one family on matters pertaining to the school development. We nurture the philosophy of unity because ‘unity is strength.’
As the Head Teacher, I am a strong team builder and player. I have recognized that the future is always determined by the present and the tomorrow’s success is defined by the much we prepare today through Christ who strengthens us. I believe that if I want to walk faster I walk alone but if you want to go far I walk with others. I thank all the stakeholders for making Success Academy the school like none other.

DEPUTY HEAD TEACHER’S MESSAGE
Success is a church school. It is situated in Kajiado County near Athi-River Prisons.
The school began in the year 2006 as the Bishop of The Living Word Church Kitengela, Bishop Mutiso was directed by God to do.
Due to the fact that the school is under church, and began as a project directed by God, the day to day activities are conducted in a way to reflect Christianity and moral development.
We believe in bringing up all – round student. One who is academically excellent and can be a role model to his peers in the society. One who can be depended upon by the parents and the community at large.
Therefore in Success Academy, the discipline of both teachers and pupils is of high quality. Such a school cannot be ignored by anyone who would like to have a bright future for their children. Success Academy is a God given gift to us all.
As a Deputy Head Teacher, I assist the Head Teacher in the day-to-day running of the institution and see to it that the Director’s vision about the school is achieved. It is my sincere prayer that God gives us the grace to make Success a model institution to be emulated by others in this region and the world in general.
SENIOR TEACHER’S MESSAGE
Academics is the backbone of any learning institution .It’s the core mission of any learning parameters. Learning should be geared towards improving a learner holistically. Learning takes place in and within formal and informal set up. At Success Academy, this is given maximum attention as it’s the major aspect of the institution together with spiritual, moral, cultural and social aspects of the development of the pupil.
Academically; learners from our institution are to the mark. As laid down, there are various testing procedures in place to check and ascertain on the academic progress. Internal and external testing is done for equity, performance, excellent and production are emphasized both in and out of class. Excellent and quality performance in academics has made our transitions excellent; Critical thinking rather than memorization of ideas and information is highly encouraged. Hard work is encouraged while indolence is well preached against and adversely discouraged.
All the same, good conditions of the learning facilities and materials have enabled the smooth learning of the learners .Quality services offered are satisfactory. The deemed support of the management and their commitment, guidance and efficiency has paved way for accomplishment of the goals and expectation. Learners ready to dine in education have offered a ample play ground for the teachers to perform their duties with ease and determination
As a result, learning materials and resources are quite relevant, sufficient and upto the set standards. Learning procedures are well stipulated with norms and evaluation measures. The human resources is well qualified and well versed with their roles, duties and even responsibilities. At any level, caution and modalities are in place for efficient learning, evaluation and smooth flow of the system.
As expected on the laid down curriculum, course of action, content and goals, our school adheres to such without alteration. The learning areas are keenly looked into and critically addressed on daily basis. On the same, the school has sat for KCPE exams since 2011 to date. On all the KCPE years, it has posted competitive results .All the learners in the years have passed and absorbed in good schools for their secondary education. For instance in the last year’s exam most students went to national schools and the rest to county schools. In the other levels, set standards are achieved geared towards academic excellence.
CO- CURRICUM ACTIVITIES
In addition to learning and class work our school has participates in other different activities. For instance; we have swimming lessons fortnightly, educational trips mapped with varied learning spheres, places and experiences. Games form a major congruent of learning .It has taken our school’s name high during interschool competition. Having highly gifted pupils drama and music have been represented at different levels. Our able children have displayed their competence in TV model presentation. After all is done and said, they assist in academic excellence
