As the First Lady, Mrs. Edna Lenku sets tempo for this year’s Miss Tourism auditions, it has emerged that the number of aspirants is rising by the day.
The auditions are set to take place from September 15 and 16. Edna, in a brief statement last week, said those who qualify for audition should be aged between the age of 20 and 27.
Candidates will be tested on their knowledge of tourism, cultural and investment opportunities of the county.
She said this year’s theme is ‘Our Culture Our People’ and the audition will take place at Masai Technical Training Institute in Kajiado town.
The First lady emphasized that those who will be picked for audition are residents of Kajiado who have lived in the region for not less than 10 years.
Mrs. Lenku said she expects a tight competition among the beauties of the county.
“We are all set to go and we are inviting our young girls of the land to come and showcase their talent,” the First Lady told KNU.
The winner will take over the mantle from Miss Sation Parmuat, a beauty who travelled the world in marketing Kajiado’s tourism opportunities during her tenure.
