Ngong OCPD Joseph Mwika.
Police in Ngong, Kajiado County, have launched a manhunt for a woman who on Thursday night killed her boyfriend over unknown reasons.
But residents of Oloolua area of Ngong Division told KNU on Friday, Denis Mutunkei, 28, allegedly differed with her girlfriend who suspected he had an affair with another woman. An informer had earlier given the media a wrong name of the victim.
The residents said the suspect, is a 30 year old female known to the parents of Mutunkei and the villagers. The police said documents recovered at the scene indicated the woman comes from Bahati area, Nakuru and lives with her sister in Mlolongo.
Kajiado North OCPD, Joseph Mwika, confirmed Mutunkei was attacked at his home at 8pm on Friday and the suspect disappeared under the cover of darkness after stabbing her victim with a knife severally.
Mwihaki said the victim was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital and the body was moved to City Mortuary to await postmortem.
“We have launched investigations in to the incident as some of our officers are tracking down the suspect. The suspect is known woman and we are telling her to surrender or we go for her wherever she is hiding,” said Mwika.
The OCPD wondered aloud what could have gone into the heads of young people in relation, adding that the two could have just solved the matter or cut their relation without resolving to take away a life.
“Why would one kill the other because of love gone sour? The best thing one can do if you are fed up with your partner is to get away fast and start a new life. That way, you will keep police out of your way,” said the OCPD.
