Enforcement Officers Burst Businessman Operating with Fake Permits in Kajiado

County enforcement officers, acting on a tip off, have burst a business person operating a chain of supermarkets with fake trading licenses.

On Wednesday last week, revenue enforcement team while conducting conformity of trading licenses in Kiserian town, following the tip, found a businessman running a chain of supermarkets in possession of fake documents.

The supermarkets operating under the name ‘Sweet World Supermarkets chain’ in Kiserian, Embulbul, Rongai, Ngong and Upper Matasia in Kajiado are all in possession of fake permits.

The County team arrested the supermarket’s manager and took her to Rongai Police Station and will be arraigned in court on Monday morning.

A senior official from the revenue department claimed some people in the system must be in the cartel that is assisting in the issuance of such fake permits.

The official claimed that during the operation, they established that the owner of the supermarket chain has more than 10 shops and 10 transport trucks with fake operating permits.

“This person has been operating with fake papers for the last seven years. We are following some leads in a bid to establish how many such business people are operating with fake documents,” said the official who chose to remain anonymous.
