Police crackdown on Illicit brews in Mashuuru Sub County on Monday recovered 10 litres and arrested two suspects expected to be arraigned in court in Kajiado on Tuesday.
The two suspects were arrested, two days, after more than 400 litres of illicit brew was apprehended Kenyewa/Poka ward on Saturday.
Police also on Saturday recovered several Chinese betting machines that have been banned by the government.
In today’s arrest, two suspects were nailed down by administration officers, who later locked them at Emali AP Post for onward transfer to Mashuuru before being taken to court in Kajiado town.
Mashuuru deputy county commissioner, Stephen Nyakundi, announced on Saturday that he will not relent on taking action against illicit beer brewers in his area of jurisdiction.
He made the statement after the same Mashuuru APs had nabbed a truck ferrying sugar suspected to be contraband.
Nyakundi said he impressed by the work of his officers in fighting illicit brews and reigning on illicit traders in contraband goods.
As the APs are being praised, a section of motorists plying several routes into Mashuuru are crying for help from authorities claiming traffic police are fleecing them on the roads.
They want anti-corruption investigators to track them down, adding that the officers are taking advantage of the bad roads leading to the town in cashing in on motorists.
