Directorate of Criminal officers arrested former Olkejuado Teachers’ Sacco chairman, Bernard Kool, in Kitengela over embezzlement claims of Sh21 million, writes Linet Minayo.

The DCI officers from Kitengela were acting on a warrant of arrest issued last week by the Cooperative Tribunal Court in Nairobi after the suspect jumped bail.
He will be arraigned in the same court in Nairobi on Monday to show-cause why he should not surrender documents such as land title he deposited in the court as surety.
The current Olkejuado Chairman, Isaiah Katampoi, accompanied the arresting officers to the police station and told journalists the case has been on for the last 10 years but Kool had been evading court sessions.
Kool has been accused along four other former officials for the lost money.
He said the Sacco has at least recovered Sh4 million from other former officials.
“We used to have more than 1, 500 members in the Sacco but the numbers came down to250 because our welfare can no longer meet financial obligations of teachers.
