Embattled Assembly Clerk Daniel Konyango on Thursday got a reprieve after a labour court sitting in Nairobi stopped county assembly public service board from appointing anybody to act in his position.
Justice Byram Ongaya restrained Kajiado county assembly public board from appointing, recruiting and or employing any person in the position of either the clerk or secretary.
Justice Ongaya said pending the hearing and determination of the suit on the suspension of Konyango vide letter dated March 29 the matter is stayed and the claimant does continue to exercise his duties as the clerk of the county assembly.
Konyango was represented in court by lawyer J.M Njengo who filed the suit under certificate of urgency.
The county assembly public service board appointed Saisa Leboo as acting clerk after Konyango had been suspended on allegation of corruption.
County Speaker, Johnson Osoi, said after Konyango had been suspended that he has no personal difference with him, and that an ad hoc committee had been appointed to investigate some of the allegations against the clerk.
