New Management Face At Kajiado County Assembly

Major changes have been made in Kajiado County Assembly to boost efficiency following the suspension of Clerk Daniel Konyango over corruption allegations.

County assembly speaker Johnson Osoi said while the changes in the management of the affairs in the House of Laws is taking place, he has no personal difference with the suspended clerk.

“I recently said our only difference with him is official in the way we do business in the assembly. He was suspended because of corruption allegations, and if he comes out clean after all investigations have been completed, I cannot stop him from resuming duties,” said Osoi on the phone.

But while speaking during a staff briefing, the acting clerk, Leboo Saisa, said the changes by the board takes effect immediately. The Clerk’s office and the speaker’s office have witnessed major overhaul, Saisa said.

The changes are aimed at ensuring that the Assembly through its support staff undertakes it’s legislative, oversight and representation role effectively to the people of Kajiado.

The new office bearers include:  Leboo Saisa, acting clerk has been serving as the deputy clerk, Ntele Kipambi moves from the office of Speaker as Director to Deputy Clerk.

The former Finance Director, Faith Kilakoi becomes director in the office of the speaker.
The directorate of finance and compliance, and administration liaison and support services has been merged and is now headed by Jemimah Kilesi as one unit.

Grace Kanchori, who has been the principal payroll officer moves to legislation directorate to take up the positions once headed by Lydia Makaka and Immaculate Parseina, as the principal clerk Assistant in an acting capacity.

Parseina now heads the communications department at the speaker’s office as principal officer in charge of media relations, public relations, liaison and protocol, while Lydia Makaka heads the research department.

Samson Sirere, who has been serving as fiscal analyst takes the position of principal finance officer in an acting capacity, as Daniel Tyong becomes the principal administrator in an acting capacity.

Philip Muteleu leaves his position as procurement officer and move to become administrator of finace. David Lenku now heads payroll office as Florence Simaloi becomes head of training in the human resource department, and they are all in acting capacities.
