Immediate former Kajiado county commissioner Harsama Kello has been redeployed to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.
Kello moves to the State department of agriculture as ad
ministration secretary following a reshuffle made by Interior Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang’i.
Matiang’i on February 2 reshuffled regional and County Commissioners across the 47 counties.
Matiang’i said the reshuffle was done after consultations with President Uhuru Kenyatta and in the interest of enhancing service delivery and strengthening security across the country.
In the changes, immediate former Nairobi county regional commissioner Bernard Leparmarai has been moved to Coast region.
Leparmarai replaces Nelson Marwa who was nominated by the President as Devolution Principal Secretary.
William Thuku is the new regional commissioner for Nairobi while former Busia county commissioner, Mongo Chimwaga has been moved to Rift Valley replacing Wanyama Musiambo who was named deputy head of public service by President Kenyatta last month.
Central Regional Commissioner Ann Ngetich takes over in Western region.
Nyanza regional co-ordinator, Wilson Njega has been moved to Central, while Eastern Regional co-ordinator Wycliffe Ogallo and his North Eastern Regional Commissioner Muhamud Saleh were retained their current regions.
The changes are the first to be effected by the CS since he took full charge of the Interior docket.
Elsewhere, the newly appointed education cabinet secretary Ambassador Amina Mohammed has pledged to sustain the momentum for reforms in the education sector.
Amina assured Kenyans that she will focus on building on what has been achieved by her predecessor newly appointed Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i.
The cabinet secretary who received a status report on the education sector during the handing over event at Jogoo House also applauded the impressive milestones achieved in the education sector under the leadership of her predecessor.
She further commended the entire leadership and staff of the Ministry of Education for their hard work and dedication.
Amina who assumed office Monday is expected to oversee the full implementation of the new curriculum among other reforms in the education sector.
