We are bold in presenting our news as we move to all Maa counties across the country.

Three boys who sat for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education examination last year in Kajiado County, and passed well are still at home.

Michael Ndungu scored 384 marks in last year’s KCPE.

The boys aged between 13 and 14 years were the pride of Kajiado South Sub County when the results were announced in December but their celebrations came to nil when they realised they would not join form one for lack of fees.

The three; Michael Ndungu, 14, scored 384 marks and was called to Oloolaiser Boys Secondary School along with Simon Kiarie, 13, who scored 371 marks.

The other is Maosa Mucheche, 13, who scored 357, and called to Karima Boys. They all sat for KCPE exams at Nkama Primary School in Loitokitok.

Teacher Irene Oilepo, who alerted the Star about the plight of the boys on Friday said the lads were bright and hardworking in school but their future is bleak because their parents could not afford to pay for their studies in high school.

“As  a teacher  and  an advocate of  children ‘s welfare in Nkama Primary  School, I am worried that the boy child is becoming endangered and I want to take this opportunity to appeal to sponsors out there to help these boys,” said Oliepo.

The teacher said she feels saddened that such young souls will remain at home and do nothing until they are 18 years.

“In fact, one of them has come back to school to seek admission in class eight, saying he has nowhere to go,” said the teacher.
