Four people died in a grisly road accident on the evening of Friday and Saturday near Emali town after two trucks hit a PSV car and a motorbike respectively
The first accident involved a truck and motorbike at the junction of Loitokitok/Mombasa road when the two rammed into each other head on leaving a boda boda passenger dead on the spot as the rider received multiple fractures.
The second accident occurred at the same junction of Emali-Loitokitok road on Saturday when a Chania Bus that was traveling from Mombasa to Nairobi collided head on with a Toyota Probox vehicle that was headed to Loitokitok.
Makueni Police Commander Joseph Napeyian, told the Star late Saturday, three people died on the spot and several others were taken to Makindu hospital for treatment.
Napeyian confirmed that the man who died on the motorbike on Friday evening at 8pm was an employee of county government.
“What is happening is that these buses are rushing on the road to beat up the time set by National Transport and Safety Agency barring PSV vehicles from traveling at night,” said Napeyian..
The injured people on both the probox car were rushed to Makueni county hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
Napeyian cautioned drivers approaching Emali from Mombasa to be cautious at the junction of Loitokitok-Mombasa road.
