A young woman in Kajiado has been detained at the Rongai’s Nairobi Women Hospital by authorities for failing to raise a bill of Sh350, 000.
Ms Doris Kikules, 30, has been in and out of hospital for two years ran into trouble after she underwent surgery during her first born child birth. She now says she is traumatised over her long stay in the facility.
Authorities at the facility locked her up in her ward for the last six months after her situation improved and cannot be allowed to leave because she has to clear the bill.
Kuleles has no parents and the man who had married her abandoned her in the same hospital after he realised the bill was going up.
“I am here leading this torturous life after my husband abandoned me. I am praying that his parents come to my aid because I am now healed but I cannot be allowed to leave,” said Kuleles with a tear drops on her eyes.
She appealed to the government for any possible assistance in paying the bloated bill.
“I have tried my best to talk to my friends but all in vain because no one is ready to part with a cent. This bill is too big for me and the only option left is to spend the rest of my life here. I have nothing to pay them and here I am well. I do not know how I can raise that money while inside here,” wondered Kuleles.
Her kiosk business in Ongata Rongai town, her only source of income, collapsed due to her sickness.
She lives in a rented house in the town, and her rental money is accumulating each month.
For those who want to assist can reach her on +254 721 537611 or they can contact the hospital.
